The questionnaires showed some of the facts that were already known or at least anticipated: Visitors mostly visit AOAMs because they are interested in the past or in the local region. They usually visit the site once, although sometimes, they return to the same AOAM some years later. The mostly represented audience are families, actually children with their parents or grandparents. In some cases, these are organized school groups. In accordance with this, the best represented age groups are those up to 14 years and between 31 and 50 years.
Visitors were also given an opportunity to evaluate and give their opinions about buildings and reconstructions, guides and guided tours, signs and folders, gift shops, catering, prices etc. It was especially interesting to find out their general impressions and what has influenced them. In this field, many surprising details were revealed.
