The annual Experimental Archaeology Conference is the largest gathering of its type in Britain and Ireland. In January 2015 it was held in Dublin and featured an extensive programme of talks, demonstrations, fringe meetings and tours.

Attendance at the conference offered a cost-effective way of introducing the St Fagans craft festival (to be held in May 2015 as part of the OpenArch conference) to a large audience of potential demonstrators and attendees. To this end, a poster was produced and displayed in the main lobby throughout the conference. The opportunity was also taken to highlight the festival during one of the conference sessions.

As a result of this promotional opportunity, five additional stalls were encouraged to take part in the craft festival, including demonstrators of Bronze Age pottery, bronze casting, smelting and medieval leatherwork.
