During the summer 2015 ca. 35 students from the Archaeological Institute of the University of Hamburg participated in the "Practical Archaeological Week" at the Stone Age Park Dithmarschen in Albersdorf. The students were engaged with different performances, experiments and educational programmes, especially about the topics "Stone / Flint", "Bone / Antler", "Pottery", "Wood, Bark and Bast", "Textile", "Food", "Leather" and "Building of a Stone Age Cart". All this different topics were arranged and communicated in the frame of the focus "Mobility and Transport in Neolithic Times". The idea of "mobility" was taken up in experiments surrounding transport/able objects from litle bags made out of organic fibre to the construction of a "Stone Age Cart" in original size.
In this year there was for the first time a practical cooperation with the OpenArch-partners of the Archaeological Department of the University of Exeter (England), which gave very good results, new scientific questions and new friendships.
For 2016 it is planned that the "Activity Week" and the cooperation with the colleagues from Exeter continues.
