Experimental Action ideas from Students
In the winter of 2013-2014, students from Leiden University were given an assignment. They were to visit Archeon in the late season (october 2013) and work on ideas to develop new experimental actions within the context of the. 41 students visited Archeon and wrote a paper (1500-1800 words, in Dutch or English) on the subject.
Their assignment goals were:
• Paper with the following objection (1500-1800 words): Where in the Archeon can a scientific archaeological contribute towards a better substantiation of the display. Design a scientific experiment.
• Deadline 1st of December.
• The paper has to be written in English or in Dutch with an English abstract.
Archeon received the papers in early 2014 and presents a summary of their contents in the attached documentation. As well as some interesting ideas for experiments or activities, the papers give some insight into the image of Archeon and AOAM that these students have.
The quality of the work varies wildly, attached there are those essays that were written wholly in English. Since part of the assignment was to provide an English summary or abstract, these are included as well, for all essays.
