Daily Life in the Neolithic - Activity week in the Stone Age Park in Albersdorf

During summer 2014 more than 30 students from the Archaeological Studies of the University of Hamburg and four children participated, joined and worked at the practical week at the Stone Age Park Dithmarschen in Albersdorf (AÖZA). Also in this year the students were prepared in form of a University seminar and firmed on the base of this again groups centered on the different raw materials available in neolithic time für the pracitcal week, educated by the archaeologists Birte Meller and Tosca Friedrich, and for the first time also by the educator Werner Pfeifer. The groups were working as following: Stone and Flint, Bone/Antler and Jewelry, Clay and Pottery, Wood, Bark and Bast, Textile, Food, Brewery, Music, Sweat Lodge (prehistoric sauna), oven-reconstruction, leather and producing a skin boat. As it was the case in earlier years some projects will be continued in concurrence with change and necessity. In this year for the first time colleagues from other European Museums from the OpenArch partners joined this week (from Archeon and from Exeter University). The seminar and the practical week will be continued in the summer term 2015 (activity week from the 19. - 24. 7. 2015).
