"The Albersdorf-Day" in 2014 - A model for interaction with municipalities and societies

The "Albersdorf-Day" had taken place for the first time in summer 2014, in close cooperation between the municipality of Albersdorf, the diverse societies and associations in the Albersdorf-region and the Archaeological-Ecological Centre Albersdorf (AÖZA).
The idea behind this festival with a lot of presentations of local activities was that the different actors and societies should get to know each other (better), to develop new cooperation-projects, to use the big area of the Open Air Museum for this purpose and to give information about the Stone Age Park and its program to the local and regional people.
The Festival was very successful, not only by including a lot of different groups (from the fire department, the local schools, the sport societies, the Red Cross etc.), but also by the number of participants - more than 1.000 people came and learend "by the way" also a lot about archaeology and the museum.
This activity was planned and realized by a cooperation of the local politicians under the auspices of the mayor and the Stone Age Park.
As result not only the knowledge about the different possibilities and programmes such an institution like the Open Air Museum can give has been risen, but also new ideas and cooperations started (f. e. the use of the museum area for sport events etc.).
In 2016 the Albersdorf-Day should be continued.
