5 swords for 5 warriors: an open dialogue between public and skills

The team of experts working on the project “Smiths in Bronze Age Europe”, promoted by the Modena Archaeological Museum in collaboration with AÖZA Museum in the frame of OpenArch 4th work package “Dialogue with skills”, developed further on their research focusing on moulds for bronze production. The four experts of the Terramara Park of Montale Claudio Cavazzuti, Federico Scacchetti, Luca Pellegrini and Monia Barbieri, under the scientific coordination of Professor Andrea Cardarelli (University La Sapienza of Rome-Italy), realized different methods of casting bronze with moulds made of stone and sand starting from existing archaeological evidences. Due to the interest of such experiment, the direction of the Park decided to create a public event organizing the activity in the agenda of the demonstrations for the visitors of the Terramara Park of Montale, on Sunday the 30th of September 2012 from 10 am to 6 pm, according with the time of the visits. Nearby the experts activity, a flesh and blood bronze age warrior explained and demonstrated to the public how to use ancient armament. The response of public was great, we had in fact 380 visitors.
