2nd International Conference on the Roman Danubian Provinces

In November 2013, Milica Tapavički-Ilić and Nemanja Mrđić travelled to Ferrara, Italy, to participate at the 2nd International Conference on the Roman Danubian Provinces. The conference was organized by the Universitá degli studi di Ferrara and had a special focus on Religion and Acculturation in the Danubian Provinces. It was held between the 20th and the 22nd of November 2013.
During this conference, many lectures were held on the already mentioned topics. Milica Tapavički-Ilić and Nemanja Mrđić held a lecture "A Roman Burial Rite in Viminacium: The latest Discovery". This lecture resulted from the cremation experiment conducted within the OpenArch project in March 2013. It drew much attention of the conference participants, since it presented a different approach to the burial rite and the comparison between how it was once conducted and what archaeologists actually find during excavations and how they interpret it.
